Hey! Thanks for being here. Shopspitality is a visual merchandising studio based in central Florida. We help apparel retail stores of all sizes sell more products with custom visual merchandising strategies.

So what is visual merchandising?

The textbook definition straight from Google says “Visual merchandising is the practice of optimizing the way products are displayed and arranged in a retail environment to attract customers, enhance their shopping experience, and ultimately drive sales.”

Our definition at Shopspitality is that visual merchandising is the creation and maintenance of irresistible shopping experiences that help stores sell as much product as possible as fast as possible without compromising working conditions for employees.

We take a no-nonsense approach to display building and product styling that focuses on saving time and money by bypassing elaborate art installations and making the products the central focus of each project. We truly believe in working smarter, not harder.

It’s true! Even the big name brands often struggle with great visual merchandising for a few key reasons:

  • Overcomplicated, cluttered, and confusing shopping areas that make shopping harder which makes selling harder.

  • Ignoring the numbers. Product placement strategy should be supported by sales metrics. We don’t want to just look great. We want to sell great too! Visual merchandising can be a big part of the selling strategy when it’s implemented correctly.

  • Forgetting about employees. The people who sell the product are intimately intertwined with the people who shop the products. When employees don’t have clear expectations, efficient working conditions, and a support structure, they can’t do their best work. Visual merchandising should be built to assist employees and make their responsibilities easier, not more complicated. The employee experience can completely control the experience they provide the customer, so it’s vital that they feel like a priority.

  • Missing maintenance standards for product placement and styling upkeep during and after sell through. Shopping and selling becomes harder when a store is depleted and not looking fresh.


Visual merchandising is often misrepresented as a superficial and superfluous endeavor, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Although VM has creative components, there are also rules and best practices that, when used consistently, help a store achieve its revenue goals.

Visual merchandising has the ability to not just increase sales, but build out traffic, customer loyalty and social media followings. It can introduce and reinforce brand recognition, and help to cultivate relationships with customers long term. It can even help a store regulate and reduce theft.

Our process is simple:

  • We need to see your store either virtually or in person.

  • We need to see your sales data

  • We will have a framework meeting to get all the basic details of your brand, products, customers, and your goals

  • We will analyze all that information and create a strategy

  • We will map the strategy and conduct the floor moves, product placement and store styling, resetting your entire sales floor.

  • We will monitor progress and continue adjusting as needed weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

We have lots of tools and resources to make understanding our methods as simple as possible. You can decide how involved you’d like to be in learning our concepts or buying back your time and letting us do the work for you!

Our rates are simple: $125/hr
